Not much to report this week. Hot and dry. I don’t have water in the yard so it seems like what birds are around are sitting high in trees or just flying over. Lots of flies. Other insects seems to just zoom by.

I took a picture of the crepe myrtles starting to bloom and happened to capture a Japanese beetle and a small wasp in the image. Japanese beetles are a pest and eat roses, crepe myrtles, and other blooming bushes. I can’t ID the wasp but it’s probably beneficial. So good and bad surprises in the same picture.
