We discovered brown thrashers had a nest near our front door when they started dive bombing my dogs’ heads and setting up a constant “chip” alarm. The babies had fledged and were in hiding in the grass. The next day they had all moved from the nesting area to a brushy area in the side yard. They remained on high alert but were much less vulnerable to the dogs.
